about

BRC-06//

a precursor to the full fledged studio effort, 'telescopes (on) parade,'

'pillow fig. (figurines/figure)' returns again to the home-fi roots of their debut record, merging lo-fi and pop intentions, culling songs from various points within the last 5-ish years.

most notably:

'fly high' features lead vocals from scott's sister, who inadvertently helped coerce balloons into existence by way of lending her bass on indefinite loan, during the home-recorded beginnings.

&

'widowers' celebrates our first collaboration with close friend, Heather Nation; predating her appearances on any other balloons record. this one holds a special place in our hearts, and was long overdue for release.

the rest of the songs are handpicked by scott himself, including the home version of 'pills,' from the aforementioned forthcoming 'telescopes' record.

Track Name: widowers (feat Heather Nation)
the stars are faces
and your eyes are graves
so droll and dignified

the shelves are fumes
amidst the sheltered city
canvas left behind~~~~~~>

you're so dodgy when you drive
i'll keep a look out for the wire
(we could dim the streets
so no one calls and no one leaves)
you're so darling when you try
i'll keep a watch out for the bride
(we could trim the pave
so no one falls between the page)

the bars are stairs
impossible to scale
at such convenient flight

we crawl like widowers
and move like shapes
indignant with their pride~~~~~~>

you're so dodgy when you drive
i'll keep a look out for the wire
(we could dim the streets
so no one calls and no one leaves)
you're so darling when you try
i'll keep a watch out for the bride
(we could trim the pave
so no one falls between the page)
Track Name: fly high (feat jaime)
flying embers
no sleep tonight
pull me over
and crash into the flame of the sun

behold my fake red flower
bleed easily
linger on the unpainted moment
depicted and dirty

fly high
meet me
soar
oh………

shapeful streams of steel
circles
my love not a melody a given
and overwhelming yes to
dampened minds

fly high
meet me
soar
oh………

shelves of once bleeding hearts
sewn up with your guitar
and the songs you wrote for me
embedded in my mind
not even sure what
you stand for

fly high
meet me
soar
oh………
Track Name: thief
you are the cult to my imaginary scope
so fit to wear the stars
of all these cut up vanity folk
i'll shoot the stills of all your paralytic quirks
awkward and so frivolously spent in our wake

but perfect stems are looking glass
if you're the queen then i'm the crass
i won't let you follow my lead
cause secrets are like terriers
opaque and precarious
we'll fold tongues and swallow our deeds

you are the purse in my apology crest
to harbor subtlety like any poor reputable mess
i took your hand and crawled between
the suffocating droll to tread the face
held ahead the speak of our prose

but perfect stems are looking glass
if you're the queen then i'm the crass
i won't let you follow my lead
cause secrets are like terriers
opaque and precarious
we'll fold tongues and swallow our deeds

well crossing guards are caveats
so dull and spun in parking lots
i won't let you stop being seen
all the auteurs spar with harlots shame
and stoics speak like starlit kane
we're only beggars caught in belief
caught in belief
Track Name: pills (@ home)
we could line the walls
with perfect paragraphs
still the exits
are best described;
manic regiments
and time continuum martyrs
in abraxas we are all in-tact

come on babe and crumble
in our canopy cascade
reading minds in my leisure lay
i could swallow pills
til im pushin' daises
on a monday, monday

skirt in with your mother
coming down from the rafters
i'm the panic in your pageant praise
storming the pariah
meant to lead in with dis-taste
all the mockery you set aside

come on babe and crumble
in our canopy cascade
reading minds in my leisure lay
i could swallow pills
til im pushin' daises
on a monday, monday

come on see me darling
i'm a mess in a party dress
i'm addressed to your stark ends
i could swallow pills 'til
the morning after
or next.
Track Name: starstruck
there's a slouch in my bedside
mannerisms fall at the waist
i could write a thousand strung
hips on watershed

i keep coming back
to rescue all the stars in your eyes
epileptics sworn to secre- seize
and rolling blinds

underneath the crowds surf
watercup kids and the like
obscure, the panoramic gates
you're my protestant babe

i keep coming back
to rescue all the stars in your eyes
epileptics sworn to secre- seize
and rolling blinds

left the scavengers
to draw from past the enemy lines
scale the neighborhoods
and strip the towns
down, down to their size
